With 15 October 2020 on the calendar, cinema halls across the country are finally opening after seven months of dry spell. As of now, the theaters have decided to re-release some old movies for the ones craving the long gone and forgotten theatrical-entertainment. But as the festive season gets closer, many new films will directly release on the big screen.
So if wondering what are these movies that will release in theaters post lockdown, then here is the list for you.
1. Sooryavanshi
Originally scheduled for 2020 Diwali release, the release date of the same has been pushed to 2021. Rohit Shetty’s directed stars Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles.
2. Tenet
Christopher Nolan’s latest sci-fi drama Tenet has been released across many counties but still awaits a release date in India. The highly anticipated movie will likely be the first English movie to release in India in the coming months.
3. 83
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starer 83 is the biopic of the Indian cricketer Kapil Dev and how he lead the Indian cricket team to win its first World Cup. The movie will likely release this Christmas.
4. Coolie No. 1
The remake of a 1995 film with the same name, Coolie No. 1 makers said that the movie will directly release on Amazon Prime but now with theatres opening up and the festive season is on the card, there could be a change in plan or double release.
5. Laxmmi Bomb
The highly anticipated Akshay Kumar starrer will internationally release in theaters this Diwali and with unlock 5 allowing theaters to open in India, Laxmmi Bomb might release in theatres in India too.
6. Khaali Peeli
With Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey in the lead roles, Khaali Peeli released recently but will re-release in theaters.
7. Death on the Nile
Russell Brand, Gal Gadot, Ali Fazal, and others will get together in this adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel. The film is all set to release somewhere around Christmas 2020.
8. Black Widow
The makers of the Black Widow have already pushed the release date of the movie twice due to the pandemic. But the Scarlett Johansson starrer will finally release in early 2021.
9. Wonder Woman 1984
Another from Marvel is the sequel to Wonder Woman set to release in theaters around Christmas. The action-packed thriller stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine in lead roles.
10. No Time To Die
No Time To Die marks Daniel Craig’s last 007 project and will release in November this year. It remains to be a highly anticipated movie that you can watch with your friends.
