Jitendra Singh, who is the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions for the Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir today took part int he Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of AIIMS building.

While practicing the Bhoomi Pujan, Jitendra Singh also said that Jammu and Kashmir has been allotted two news AIIMS, the first one in Jammu and the second one in Kashmir. The announcement comes weeks after the finance minister announced a healthy budget for the development of the Union Territory.
Besides, two AIIMS, Singh also revealed the plan to construct nine new medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. As per a report by Livemint, he said that the culture of thinking beyond vote bank politics is really benefiting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. For the unknown, the foundation stone of AIIMS Jammu was laid by PM Modi last year.

With an estimated cost of Rs. 1661 crores, the deadline for the project has been set for August 2022. Once completed, AIIMS Jammu will be a super specialty hospital with 750 beds with super specialty departments.
