As per the Indian Union Health Ministry Data, India has recorded the highest fresh Covid-19 cases in the over 100 days. With 35,871 new covid-19 cases, the covid-19 infection tally to 114,74,605.
The total death in the country because of this viral infection has gone up to 1,59,216 with 172 fatalities in the last 24-hour, as per the ministry’s data updates at 8 am. India has recorded 20,000+ new covid-19 cases for consecutively 8 days. It indicates a sharp rise in fresh cases and it may result in a second wave. In the interim, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that the Covid-19 vaccination has crossed over 3.50 crore in the country.

Covid-19 Vaccination
As stated by the official release, a total of 3,64,67,744 vaccine doses were processed in the country, till Tuesday. “It includes 75,47,958 health care workers who have taken the first dose whereas 46,08,397 HCWs have done with the second dose. Additionally, 76,63,647 front line worker (FLWs) have vaccinated with the first dose, 17,86,812 FLWs have availed the second dose of the vaccine, 23,86,568 beneficiaries aged 45 or above and 1,24,74,362 beneficiaries with 60+ years old.

Rajesh Bhushan (Health Secretary) informed that the covid-19 mortality rate remains below 2% across union territories and states within the country. Also, the cumulative positivity rate has decreased below five per cent.
Maharashtra is one of India’s worst covid-19 affected states now. More than 23,000 fresh Covid-19 cases were registered in Maharashtra on Wednesday and it is one of the highest infection counts in 2021 so far since September 2020. Previously, on 11th September 2020 and 17th September 2020, Maharashtra registered 24,886 and 24,619 infections respectively.
