1. Fan (2016)
Fan is Shah Rukh Khan’s first film to not have even a single song. The song ‘Jabra Fan’ was only made to promote the movie and was not a part of the film.
2. War (2019)
One of the best movies of 2019 was also one of the most expensive. War was shot in as many as seven countries and 15 cities across the world including Portugal, Arctic Ocean, Italy and Kerala.
3. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)
One of the famous scenes from the movie features Spain’s La Tomatina festival. But, it wasn’t shot during the original La Tomatina festival. The scene was recreated in Busnol, Spain and tons of tomatoes were flown in from Portugal for the same.
4. Rockstar (2011)
The movie Rockstar was literally shot in reverse because the climax scenes required Ranbir to have long hair while the initial small hair. Ranbir cut his hair short after the climax scenes were shot.
5. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
Director Ayan Mukherjee, who is friends with Ranbir Kapoor, wanted him as the lead in the film. He thus wrote the story keeping Kapoor in mind.
6. Drishyam (2015)
The outstanding movie is a remake of the 2013 blockbuster Malayalam film of the same name. The movie featured Mohanlal.
7. Bajirao Mastani (2015)
To nail the role of Radhaa Ma, actress Tanvi Azmi had shaved her hair while Priyanka learnt Marathi for the role of Bajirao’s wife, Kashibai. Moreover, the film was announced in 2003 with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.
8. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016)
Karan Johar, who is the director of the movie, had finished writing the script of the same in just 9 days.
9. Dangal (2016)
Aamir Kahn along with director Nitesh Tiwari and Aamir Khan had auditioned as many as 3,000 girls to play the role of wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat.
10. Kapoor & Sons (2016)
Originally, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan were approached to play the role of Fawad Khan in the movie. But both declined the same.
11. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016)
Some part of the film portraying the living legend was shot in Dhoni’s original school in Ranchi.

13. Neerja (2016)
Neerja is a biography film that pictures the real-life hijack of PanAm flight 73 on Sept. 5, 1986. Sonam Kapoor played Neerja Bhanot, the brave flight attendant who saved many lives but couldn’t save her’s.
14. Sarbjit (2016)
Another real-life story is based on an Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh, who had accidentally entered Pakistan. He was mistaken as a spy and kept in the jail where he lost his life. Hooda and Rai, who played Sarabjit and his sister Dalbir respectively, said yes to the film within minutes of hearing the narration.
15. Sultan (2016)
Based on the fact that the movie revolves around wrestling, Sultan was initially named ‘Dangal’. But the name was later changed as Aamir Khan’s film “Dangal” released in the same year.
16. Dream Girl (2019)
The film was previously titled “Googly.” It also featured Anu Kapoor as Jagjit who keeps actress Hema Malini’s photograph in his wallet and refers to her as his dream girl, an indirect reference to Malini’s 1977 film that was titled “Dream Girl.”
17. Kalank (2019)
The unfortunate demise of Sridevi forced the director to rope in Madhuri Dixit for a role in Kalank opposite Sanjay Dutt after 27 years. The last time two shared the screen space was for “Mahaanta” (1997).

Akshay Kumar wore a six kg heavy turban for the movie, which is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi.
