After the first phase of the world’s largest evacuation mission ‘Vande Bharat‘ come to an end the 2nd phase was announced. While the 1st phase bought back 14,800 Indians on 64 flights the phase 2 would be bigger and grand.
In phase 2 of the mission, 149 flights would bring back 30,000 Indians from abroad. Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted to inform about the 2nd phase of the mission. As per the tweet, the 2nd phase of the mission would begin from 16th May.
149 flights would take off between 16th May to 22nd May as a part of the 2nd phase. 31 countries would be taken into consideration under phase 2. Following countries would be targeted in phase 2:
- US ( 13 flights)
- UAE (11 flights)
- Canada ( 10 flights)
- Saudi Arabia ( 9 flights)
- UK ( 9 flights)
- Malaysia ( 8 flights)
- Oman ( 8 flights)
- Kazakhstan ( 7 flights)
- Australia ( 7 flights)
A flight would also be sent to:
- Armenia
- Belarus
- France
- Georgia
- Germany
- Indonesia
- Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Nepal
- Nigeria
- Russia
- Tajikistan
- Thailand
- Ukraine
In the second phase, 31 flights will come to Kerala, 22 to Delhi, 17 to Karnataka, 16 to Telangana, 14 to Gujarat, 12 to Rajasthan, nine to Andhra Pradesh, seven to Punjab, six each to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, three to Odisha, two to Chandigarh, and one each to Jammu and Kashmir, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Madhya Pradesh.
