K. Asif’s epic took more than a decade to make thanks to delays caused by the insurmountably grand vision of its maker. The cult romance made Rs. 6-crore on release, which when valued against today’s currency value stands a whopping Rs. 1,300-crore today. That must be all the reason to watch the story of Salim, an emperor’s son, who falls in love with a beautiful courtesan.
