The Unique Identification Authority of India, UIDAI, has released a new set of guidelines which dictates the usage of the Aadhaar Card. The usage includes the benefits and services provided by Aadhaar while maintaining the utmost safety and security of the user.
There are total 7 guidelines issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India that you need to be aware of and I am mentioning all of them below:
- UIDAI seriously urges the residents to not leave their Aadhaar Letter, PVC Card or its copies unattended.
- UIDAI also advises the residents to not share their Aadhaar openly in the public domain like social media platforms and other public platforms.
- OTP expanded as One Time Password related to Aadhaar should not be shared with any unauthorised entity.
- There is another confidential detail known as m-Aadhaar PIN which also advised not to share with any unauthorised entity.
- Aadhaar is the digital identification of a resident who works online and offline as a single source. It is used to verify the identity of the resident across the country. UIDAI advises residents to observe the same level of precautions as they would do with any other identity document.
- If a resident does not wish to share his or her Aadhaar number, they or can use a service that generates a virtual identifier which is also provided by UIDAI.
- Residents are also provided with a service called Aadhaar locking and biometric locking. Users should use these services to ensure a smooth and secure use of their Aadhaar number.
