In the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually inaugurated eight new flight routes for Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, to improve air connectivity for the sacred city and ease the arrival of pilgrims.
Ayodhya will be linked to Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Patna, Darbhanga, Mumbai, and Bengaluru via the new aircraft routes. The huge demand brought about by the recent Pran Pratishtha event at the Ram Temple has expanded Ayodhya’s tourism potential and created a way for economic and social growth.
Ayodhya Airport Reflects Culture Associated With Ram Mandir
Scindia remarked, “Ayodhya is not an ordinary destination,” at the time. There is a link between it and the faith and worship of Bhagwan Ram’s followers worldwide. The airport serves as a visitor’s first introduction to the city. Because of this, the Maharshi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhyadham was designed with artwork that tells stories from the Ramayana to reflect the local culture.
Scindia went on to say that Uttar Pradesh now has ten functioning airports, double the number that existed five years ago under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. The state will have sixteen airports overall by the end of the year, including the renowned Jewar Greenfield Airport. Five additional airports are scheduled to open soon. Additionally, he guaranteed that no airlines will remain that do not operate out of Ayodhya.
Spice Jet is scheduled to run these routes. In December 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, officially opened the Rs. 350 crore Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya Dham.
