The “God” of cricket Sachin Tendulkar has been paid tribute by fans in numerous way, however a Ph.D scholar from Gujarat has taken it to a different level. Dhruv Prajapati a scholar of taxonomy named a newly discovered species of spider after the Master Blaster.
Out of the two newly discovered spider by the Gujarat Ecological Education & Research (GEER) Foundation, one has been named “Marengo sachintendulkar”. Dhruv said that Sachin is his favorite cricketer and by naming the newly discovered Spider after him he has expressed his love for the player.

The second spider is named after the Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara who was a crusader in creating awareness about education in Kerala, he added. Dhruv’s study on the two species of spider is published in the September issue of a Russian journal titled “Arthropoda Selecta”.
