In an update to ease out the process of getting oneself an Aadhaar card, Department of Posts has informed that an Aadhaar card can now be made at post offices across the country. The new destination to get the Aadhaar card will subsume the burden on decdiatcted Aadhaar centres that countine to provide Aadhaar card and are usually too occupied.
Besides getting youself a new Aadhaar card, one can also visit the nearest post offices to get the Aadhaar card updated.
Uttar Pradesh recently became the first state to begin with the new intiative. The service has been stated at the post office in Saharanpur district of UP. However, in the intial stages, Aadhaar cards at the post offices will only be made and updated on Saturday, informs Department of Posts. Along with this, people will also be informed about the schemes of the government.

While providing information postal department’s SSPO Narasimha said, “23 centers have been built in the Saharanpur district and now not only the Aadhar card centers will help in making these cards, but post offices will also play an active role in making changes in the Aadhar card.”

However, just in case there are no post offices nearby, one can apply for Aadhaar card online and can also make chnages in the same online.
