Are you an Aadhaar Cardholder and haven’t updated your mobile number yet? If yes, then you can easily update it at your doorstep with the help of a postman. The Unique Identification Authority of India and India Post Payments Bank will allow postmen to update the mobile numbers of the Aadhaar cardholders.
For this service, a total of 650 India Post Payments Bank, 1.46 lakh postmen, and Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) will help the Aadhaar cardholders. IPPB plans to enable child enrolment service through its network. As of now, IPPB only offering the mobile update service.
In May, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) listed 4 important charges. UIDAI tweeted, “New Aadhaar Enrolment and MBU (at 5&15 yrs) are free. Charges for updating Aadhaar are fixed: ₹50 for the demographic update & ₹100 for biometric update (with/without demographic update). Now, the aadhaar holders can order and get their Aadhaar PVC Card. UIDAI has introduced the newest type of Aadhaar card. You can order it online through uidai.gov.in or resident.uidai.gov.in using your Virtual ID, Aadhaar number, or Enrolment ID. You will also need to pay a nominal charge of Rs 50 and the Aadhaar PVC Card is delivered to the resident’s address by speed post.
