The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched a new web portal to know how many mobile numbers linked with your Aadhaar. This new initiative is a portal that citizens can use to check their mobile numbers issued in their name against their Aadhaar card. As per the rules and regulations of the Department of Telecommunications, a single citizen can have up to 9 mobile numbers allotted on a single Aadhaar card.
The initiative has been dubbed the ‘Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection (TAFCOP).’ This newly launched web portal can be used as a safeguard as people can report their mobile numbers that they are not using or they don’t recognize. It helps in preventing the fraudulent activity of their Aadhaar card-related.
The TAFCOP portal says, “This website has been developed to help subscribers, check the number of mobile connections working in their name, and take necessary action for regularising their additional mobile connections if any. However, the primary responsibility of handling the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) lies with the service providers.”
