In the country, Aadhaar Card is termed an important document. It is being used for different purposes like identity proof, availing various services offers by the government, banks services, and other state-backed agencies. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) allows cardholders to change Aadhaar old photo with a recent one.
There are many citizens who are carrying years old Aadhar cards. Some are using the Aadhaar card when the Indian government had rolled out the service. As a result, the official photograph available on the Aadhar card is not recognizable, which is also seen as a reason for the people seeking to change it.
Therefore, UIDAI is now allowing replacing their old photo with the new one. Cardholders are required to submit their request online and then visit a nearby centre, where his/her new photo will be snapped by the designated official.
