In the country, the Aadhaar Card is termed an important document. It is being used for different purposes like identity proof, availing various services offered by the government, bank services, and other state-backed agencies. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) allows cardholders to change Aadhaar old photo with a recent one.
Many citizens are carrying years-old Aadhar cards. Some were using the Aadhaar card when the Indian government rolled out the service. As a result, the official photograph available on the Aadhar card is not recognizable, which is also seen as a reason why people are seeking to change it.
Therefore, UIDAI is now allowing cardholders to replace their old photo with a new one. Cardholders must submit their request online and then visit a nearby centre, where the designated official will snap their new photo.
