According to the Government data about three lakh, devotees will take part in the journey to the cave shrine of Lord Shiva. Yatra is commencing from June 30 to August 11 for 43 days. Travellers cannot drive to the temple as it is not accessible by road, the only way to reach the temple is an uphill trek through which the journey becomes multiple days. Until now the helicopter services were only available from Pahalgam and Baltal, after reaching where the pilgrims needed to hire ponies or palanquin services.
