Amazon is now launching “Kindle Vella”. It is a new storytelling option. It will allow authors to publish their stories, one episode at a time. As of now, the feature is only available to readers in the US using Amazon.com or Kindle iOS app. Amazon announced that the Kindle Vella will be launched in July this year as per the Kindle Direct Publishing site.
The serialized stories will be uploaded weekly on a new online store called Kindly Vella. The initial few episodes will be free and after that users may buy credits for the rest of the episodes. The authors will get 50% of what the readers spend on their stories. For 200 tokens, the credits start at $1.99, where one token is worth 100 words of content. An episode may contain about 600-5000 words.

If you are a reader who likes what you have written, they are allowed to show their appreciation for your story by giving a thumbs up. Also, they can add the story as their weekly favorite by giving a ‘Fav’. The stories that get the most ‘Fav’s will then be highlighted by Amazon and in that way, there is more chance for them to reach new readers.
As discussed above, Kindle Vella will first roll out to US-based users and then to other regions and countries in the world.
