The brewing tensions between BJP and Shiv Sena brought another jolt to their relationship as political allies on Monday. Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant announced that he would resign from the Union cabinet headed by PM Modi.

The minister said that BJP has being untrue on its promise. He said that the allocation of space and power between the two parties was decided on a formula prior to the Lok Sabha elections and BJP’s denial of the formula is a threat to Shiv Sena.

“BJP has taken a lot of strides in Maharashtra in the pursuit of falsehood. Shiv Sena’s side is the truth. Why stay in Delhi government in such a false environment? And that is why I am resigning as the Union Minister”, tweeted the MP.
The political trouble in the state has deepened after BJP refused to form government in the state following Shiv Sena’s staunch stand on 50-50 formula. Congress is yet to openly present its view while the Sharad Pawar led NCP has made it clear that they can think of lending support if Shiv Sena breaks away from the NDA.
