In a capital that is choked by “severe” pollution levels post-Diwali the run for unity was organized on Thursday commemorating the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. At a time when doctors have advised people of Delhi to avoid heavy outdoor physical activities, children were made to run.

Pollution level in Delhi and the nearby regions are at its peak, and the skies are hazy since the past three days. Air quality monitoring stations of SAFAR across Delhi reported air quality in the severe category on Thursday morning.

The conditions in Delhi are expected to change a little in the coming days as the winter season is coming in and rising PM 2.5 concentration would add to the challenge.
