Soon after the announcement of public health emergency in Delhi, the Kejriwal government ordered schools in the city to remain closed till 5th November. The Supreme Court (SC) appointed pollution control body declared a public health emergency in Delhi and nearby regions taking into consideration the spike in pollution.
CM Arvind Kejriwal who was seen distributing pollution mask to school children said that the city is turned into a “gas chamber”. The Delhi CM has blamed government in Punjab and Haryana for failing to curb subtle burning.

The Odd-even scheme, which is a popular measure of the Delhi government to curb vehicular pollution would come in action from Monday.
