Amidst protest against Citizenship Amendment Act, a Right to Information (RTI) application, seeking proof whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an Indian Citizen or not, was moved to the court.
The application has been moved before the Kerala information department seeking to know whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an Indian citizen.

Kerala is also the first state to have had passed a resolution in its assembly against the CAA and also moved to the Supreme Court to challenge the same. Kerala Government had filed the pleas under Article 131 of the Constitution, which empowers the Supreme Court to hear disputes between the Government of India and one or more states.

Meanwhile, Josh Kalluveettil, a native of Chalakkudy town in Thrissur district, moved the application seeking citizenship details of PM Modi on January 13.
