At a time when the calls for shutting down Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) are echoing in the country and the university is termed as the hub of anti-nationals, 18 of its students have qualified the coveted Indian Economic Service (IES) exam.
As per the results declared by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) on 11th January 2020 18 out of a total of 32 qualified candidates in the IES exam are students of JNU.

Yashaswini Saraswat, a JNU student who has secured 8th rank in Indian Economic Service (IES) Examination 2019, met the university Vice-Chancellor (VC), M Jagadesh Kumar today at his office. The IES exam is an annual examination conducted by UPSC for recruitment of IES officers.
