Assam is seeing one of the worst disasters in years as the recent flood situation continues to sweep life and property in the state. As per the reports, as many as 22 lakh people have been affected by the floods across 27 districts of the state.
Also, as many as 76 people have died due to floods and landslides combined across the state. Despite such a huge loss, the northeastern state, like every other year, hasn’t received much attention from the media.
This is the same reason why not many are even aware of the ongoing situation in Assam that not only has affected humans but also the rich diversity of animals living there.
So now taking things in their own hands, people from Assam have sought to social media to post about the prevailing situation in Assam and why it’s important that the authorities come out to help.
People in Assam are also demanding to declare the flood situation a national disaster so relief fund for its revival could be garnered.
