What’s Changing?
- The fee for using ATMs—whether Axis Bank’s own or another bank’s—will go up if you exceed your free monthly transaction limit.
- The current charge for extra ATM transactions is ₹21 per transaction. From July 1, 2025, this will increase to ₹23 per transaction.
- This new charge applies to all financial transactions at ATMs, such as cash withdrawals and balance inquiries, once you’ve used up your free quota for the month.
How Many Free ATM Transactions Do You Get?
- In metro cities, you can make up to 3 free ATM transactions per month.
- In non-metro locations, the limit is 5 free ATM transactions per month.
- These limits apply to both Axis Bank ATMs and those of other banks.
What Is an ATM Interchange Fee?
When you use another bank’s ATM, your bank pays a small fee to the bank that owns the ATM. Banks often pass this cost on to customers once they cross their free transaction limit.
Other Important Points
- The new charges also apply to transactions at cash recycler machines, except for cash deposits.
- Taxes, if any, will be added to these charges.
- If your transaction fails due to insufficient funds at a non-Axis Bank ATM, you’ll be charged an extra fee.
