Australia handed Sri Lanka a hammering defeat in the 2nd T20I in Brisbane on Wednesday to take an inaccessible 2-0 lead in the ongoing 3-match T20 series. Winning the toss and batting first Sri Lanka was bundled out for 117 in the 19th over.

Kusal Perera was the highest scorer in the Sri Lankan Innings with a score of 27. Sri Lanka begun the defense of there total on a promising note. Sri Lankan captain and star pacer Malinga sent the Aussie skipper Finch back to the pavilion in the very first over.
Post that early success for Sri Lanka it was all Smith-Warner show in the 2nd innings. Both scored half-centuries in a 117 runs winning stand for the second wicket, handing Australia a comfortable 9 wicket win.
David Warner who scored a century in the 1st T20I on Sunday chipped in with a classy score of 60*. Steven Smith who didn’t bat in the first game displayed the variety in his shots during the knock of 53*.

The 3rd and final T20I of the series would be played at MCG on Friday. Sri Lanka who has suffered 134 runs and 9 wicket defeat in the first two matches of the series has all but pride to play for.
