After staging a 2-day strike on 31st January and 1st February, banks in India are set for the 2nd phase. Lakhs of employees from several PSU banks have threatened to sit on another bank strike next week.
If the plan goes forward ATM services would also be affected across the country. ATMs could be closed for five consecutive days next month. The Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) and the All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA), has called for a 3-day all-India bank strike from March 11th to 13th.

The banks employees are going on strike to get the wage revision and 5-day working week. Their recent talks with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) for wage revision failed, which led to the announcement. Private banks like ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank will, however, not be affected due to the strike.
