Banks Closed for 12 Days in July 2024: Full Schedule

Bank holidays, which include important observances, state-specific festivals, and national holidays, are celebrated all year round in India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) sets these holidays, which fall under several categories including the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays, and Bank Closing of Accounts holidays. Traditional banking services are unavailable on certain days, and physical banking activities are suspended.

Digital banking solutions make sure that financial transactions may go through uninterrupted even while banks are closed on certain holidays. Digital payment options including UPI, IMPS, and net banking, as well as mobile applications and online banking platforms, are still available. Even during bank holidays, users may easily complete a variety of financial duties with the help of these tools.

Apart from the holidays declared by the Reserve Bank of India, every Indian state has a distinct collection of local celebrations and festivals. Because these state-specific holidays differ from place to place, they further diversify the banking holiday calendar.

In addition to the official bank holidays in July 2024 and other months, banks in India are closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. You should also take into account these typical weekly holidays when organizing your financial activity.

Reserve Bank of India standards state that banks are closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The RBI has scheduled July 3, 6, 8, 9, 16, and 17 as bank holidays by the Negotiable Instruments Act. In addition, July has four Sundays: July 7, 14, 21, and 28; July 13 and July 27 are the second and fourth Saturdays.

July has twelve bank holidays, counting weekends, according to the Reserve Bank’s schedule. Under the terms of the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881, the national government split the holidays into three groups.
