Best Unlimited 5G Plan in April 2025? Jio vs Airtel vs Vi Breakdown

Private telecom behemoths Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) are now providing prepaid plans with free limitless 5G internet as 5G services spread throughout India. Although Jio and Airtel have long had similar intentions, Vi just entered the 5G battle, beginning in Mumbai. This is a comparison of their entry-level prepaid plans, which come with Fair Usage Policies (FUP), limitless 5G advantages, and other features.

Airtel Plan Starting at Rs 379

The basic package from Airtel, which offers unlimited 5G data, costs Rs 379. For a 30-day period, it includes unlimited phone calls, 100 SMS per day, and 2GB of internet each day, for a total of 60 GB. Speed decreases to 64 Kbps if the daily allotment is reached. Airtel’s add-on advantages, which include free Apollo 24/7 Circle for three months, access to Airtel Xstream content, a complimentary greeting tune each month, VoLTE support, and AI-based spam detection, are what make the package more alluring.

A Fair Usage Policy is included in Airtel’s Unlimited 5G plan. The network may mark a user’s 5G usage as commercial if they utilise more than 300GB in a 30-day period. All network types may use the base plan data, though.

Jio Plan Starts at Rs 349

At Rs 349, Jio’s entry-level package is somewhat less expensive and includes unlimited talk, 100 SMS daily, and 2GB of data per day for a total of 56GB over 28 days. Only qualified 5G customers are eligible for the Unlimited 5G Data advantage. As long as the consumer recharges within 48 hours of the plan’s expiration, the package includes JioTV, JioAICloud (which offers 50GB of free storage), and a unique IPL 2025 offer: a 90-day JioHotstar membership.

Jio has no strict data cap with its 5G package. Although “best-effort basis” is mentioned for speeds, hotspot usage is also unrestricted.

At Rs 299, the Vodafone Idea Plan begins

The starting price for Vi’s Unlimited 5G Data package is Rs 299. For 28 days, it provides 100 SMS per day, 1GB of bandwidth per day, and unlimited voice. Mumbai is the only area now receiving the 5G advantage, although Delhi, Karnataka, and Punjab are anticipated to follow shortly. Vi also provides up to 130GB of extra data via its Vi Guarantee, which is only available on 4G.

Vi’s FUP permits up to 300GB of 5G usage over a 28-day period. Speed lowers to 64 Kbps after that, at which point usage can be marked as commercial.
