Four bogies of Bikaner Express got derailed in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal today evening. Nearly 4 people are heard to be dead and over 20 people are injured.
DM Jalpaiguri, Moumita Godala Basu has confirmed the tragic accident.
From preliminary assessment done it is suggested that there was a crack in railway track that has caused the accident.

The accident has taken place in Moynaguri area of Jalpaiguri district in North Bengal. Bikaner Express, Train Number: 15633 was going to Guwahati from Bikaner.
Railway officials from nearby railway station of Alipurduar reached at the accident spot for the rescue operations.
There are no official confirmations of death. During the time of accident West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was in meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review Covid situation in the state. She immediately left the meeting to issue instructions for relief and rescue work to district administration.
