Some people have a penchant to follow the lead and one among those people would be the face of Shaheen Bagh anti-CAA protest, Bilkis Bano, who was today detained on her way to join the ongoing protest against the farm laws around Delhi.
The 82-year-old when detained said, “We are the daughters of farmers… We will raise our voice, the government should listen to us,” Bano said earlier, news agency ANI reported.
Bano, who recently made it to Time’s 100 Most influential People of 2020 list garnered limelight during her protest against NRC and CAA back in February 2020. Her husband had died about 11 years ago and she currently lives in Shaheen Bagh with her daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
Meanwhile, the Centre and 32 unions of farmers are currently in talks to resolve the ongoing protest against the recently enacted Farm bills. The farmers have been protesting for six days now at Delhi’s Tikri and Singhu borders and have also threatened to block all in and out routes of Delhi if their demands are not heard.
