Boris Johnson resigned as UK’s Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party, on Thursday. Resign came following a drastic week in which around 50 members of the Government resigned, including the five cabinet ministers. Boris will still be in charge till the new one arrives or is chosen.

An ally also said that he has shown he will go down while fighting but his resignation is inevitable. He will still be carrying on his duties until October month, till the new leader takes the charge.
Previously, on Tuesday, both Finance Minister Rishi Sunak and Health Minister Sajid Javid resigned in a very choreographical manner after handling the letters to the Prime Minister.
“The reason I have fought so hard for the last few days to continue to deliver that mandate in person was not just because I wanted to do so but because I felt it was my job, my duty, my obligation to you to continue to do what we promised in 2019. It is painful not to be able to see through so many ideas and projects myself but, as we’ve seen at Westminster, the herd is powerful, and when the herd moves, it moves, and in politics, no one is remotely indispensable,” the man said.
