Calls for a boycott of movies, brands and campaigns have become a weekly affair on Twitter and this week has more of it.
A day after #boycottTanishq was seen trending on Twitter, today, since morning, #BoycottAmazon has been trending on Twitter. Reason? Netizens displeasure over e-commerce giant, Amazon, selling doormats printed with the spiritual symbol of ‘Om’ and underwears with an image of a Hindu deity printed on it.

The mat visible in the aforementioned tweets is being sold in the USA and UK. A US retailer recorded an item ‘Yoga Lotus mat’ valued at $18.67 (15.78 euros). The image additionally had an image ‘Om’ imprinted on it which incensed Indians.
Meanwhile, we don’t have much information about the underwear with the deity’s image trending along with the doormat.

Netizens, over the weeks, have already called out Tanishq for two of its ads. The first one showed an inter-faith marriage and was accused of promoting Love Jihad, while the other had Tanishq advising Hindus to not burst crackers.
Both ads were taken down by Tanishq.
