Tanishq and boycott synonyms to each other? Well, Twitter would invariably say yes!!
The jewellry brand is back again in the news and this time not for promoting ‘Ekatavam’ by scripting an inter-faith marriage and baby shower scene but for another ad that has women talking about the importance of celebrating Diwali with family while parting ways from bursting crackers.
However, the ad we are talking about here was deleted by Tanishq after #boycotttanishq began trending on Twitter. But a shorter version of the same is still available on the page.
The now-deleted ad featured actresses Neena Gupta, Sayani Gupta, Alaya F and Nimrat Kaur, first things first, looking very elegant. Down the road, the ladies spoke about their plans for the festival, advocate a ban on firecrackers and spending time with family.

As the ad went viral, it irked a section of the society that criticised Tansihq of trying to ‘preach’ how to celebrate Diwali.
Meanwhile, some Twitter users came in support of Tanishq too. They said that the brand’s idea behind the ad was to only promote unity and call to not use crackers as a sign of their concern for the environment.
Meanwhile, another section of people sought to limit themselves to making memes on the whole trend, kyuki ye bhi important hai!!

Tanishq, for the unware, had earlier been accused of promoting love jihad after it realised an ad showing an interfaith marriage.
