While many of you might be aware that Finland in Europe is the happiest country in the world, fewer people know about the happiest state in India. Hint? Emm!! It is tucked somewhere in the north east and is called the Land of Blue Mountains.
In a unique initiative, a study was conducted recently by a leading management strategy expert, which surveyed 16,950 people in India between March and July 2020 to track the impact of COVID-19 on people.
A part of the survey focused on finding out which is the happiest state in India. And as per the list, Mizoram was the happiest among states and UTs during the lockdown followed by Punjab at the second position and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on third.
Meanwhile, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh are the bottom three.
Sieving the list further, we find that Punjab, Gujarat and Telangana were the top three among the happiest big states on the happiness index while in the smaller states category, Mizoram, Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh claimed the top rankings.
The research names the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry and the Lakshadweep as the happiest Union Territories.
