Amidst the ongoing protest against the anti-Muslim and unconstitutional prospect of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari has said that it has nothing to do with Muslims living in India.
He further said that, “To protest is the democratic right of the people of India. No one can stop us from doing it. However, it is important that it is done in control; keeping our emotions in control is the most important part”.

Violent protests against the act have been organized across the country with the National Capital not being left behind. The Supreme Court has meanwhile refused to put a stay on the act.
