Cashless Services Restored: Big Relief for Bajaj Allianz and Care Health Policyholders

Good news has come in for health insurance customers. The Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI) has announced that the suspension on the cashless facilities of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has been lifted. Earlier, there was a concern that from September 1, 2025, customers of Bajaj Allianz and Care Health Insurance might face disruptions in cashless treatments across several hospitals in North India. Now, this issue has been resolved, bringing a much-needed sigh of relief.

Settlement Between Hospitals and Insurers

On August 28, AHPI’s core committee held a crucial meeting with senior officials from Bajaj Allianz. During the discussions, longstanding disagreements were addressed, and both sides agreed on the way forward. As part of the resolution, Bajaj Allianz has committed to notify AHPI of its actions by September 29, 2025, and work towards addressing complaints raised by hospitals. Following this assurance, AHPI advised hospitals to immediately resume cashless services for Bajaj Allianz policyholders.

In addition, AHPI clarified that Care Health customers were never actually cut off from cashless treatments. Only some clarifications were sought from the insurer regarding certain processes, which were later resolved. Hence, Care Health’s services remained uninterrupted and will continue without any hurdles.

Why Hospitals Raised Concerns

AHPI highlighted a few key issues that had prompted dissatisfaction with Bajaj Allianz. Hospitals claimed that treatment rates had not been revised for years, leading to financial strain. They also pointed out delays in the inclusion of new hospitals into the insurer’s network, rejection of claims related to robotic surgeries or advanced medical technologies, and even interference by insurers in treatment decisions – something strongly opposed by doctors.

In response, Bajaj Allianz assured that their focus has always been on patient care and that cashless services were never intentionally stopped. In situations where the cashless option was unavailable, the insurer stated it directly reimbursed the patients through their bank accounts. Similarly, Care Health reaffirmed that its network hospitals continue to provide uninterrupted cashless facilities.
