Dates for the CBSE Class X and XII board exams were announced today by the Minister for Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The board exams for both, class X and XII, will begin on May 4. The Class X exams will end on June 7 while the Class XII exams will conclude on June 11.
Meanwhile, the practical exams will begin on March 1.
All exams will be held in the offline-written mode under strict COVID-19 safety protocols. This means, students, besides knowledge, must also keep lots and lots of face masks and hand sanitisers handy.

While announcing the dates, the minister also mentioned the format of the paper. Mr. Pokhriyal said that a third of each paper (33%) will contain internal choice questions.
The first exam for Class X students will be languages – Kannada, Odia and Lepcha. Class XII exams will begin with English.

Earlier, the government has also reduced the academic syllabus for students by 30% to make up for the lack of physical schooling due to the pandemic. “… board exams will be conducted on a reduced syllabus. Thirty per cent… has been scrapped… There will also be 33 per cent internal choice in the board exam,” Mr. Pokhriyal tweeted.
