CBSE Expands With New Regional Hubs and Centres of Excellence Across India

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set for a major push in strengthening school governance and administration across the country. To make its services more accessible and efficient, the board is rolling out new regional offices, Centres of Excellence (CoEs), and sub-regional offices. The move follows approvals granted in December 2024, with the new facilities scheduled to begin functioning between August and September 2025.

New Regional Offices and Centres of Excellence

CBSE is widening its footprint in multiple states to ensure schools and students benefit from smoother administration.

  • Gurugram CoE: Situated at Gurugram Technology Park, this centre will cater to 12 districts in southern Haryana, including Faridabad, Sonipat, Rohtak, Palwal, and Gurugram itself. The office begins operations on September 1, 2025.
  • Lucknow Office: Located in Gomti Nagar Extension, this centre will serve 30 districts of Uttar Pradesh, covering cities such as Kanpur, Jhansi, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Mathura. It will start functioning from September 1, 2025.
  • Raipur CoE: Based at CSIDC Corporate Tower, the Raipur office will oversee all CBSE-affiliated schools in Chhattisgarh beginning August 22, 2025.
  • Ranchi CoE: From August 22, 2025, the Ranchi office at Bansal Bhawan will take charge of schools across Jharkhand.

New Sub-Regional Offices

Alongside regional expansions, CBSE is opening sub-regional stations to support schools in the northeast and hilly regions more effectively:

  • Agartala (Tripura West) – Starting September 15, 2025
  • Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) – Operational from August 22, 2025 at SCERT, Gohpur Tinali
  • Gangtok (Sikkim) – To begin functioning from August 22, 2025 at Tadong

All CBSE-affiliated schools will now be mapped to their respective offices based on the new jurisdictions, making administrative processes more streamlined.

CBSE Issues Warning Against Scams

Even as these new offices prepare to open, CBSE has alerted students, parents, and schools about fraudulent activities. The board warned against misleading online platforms that falsely claim to offer quick fixes for duplicate mark sheets, certificates, or corrections. CBSE clarified that such services are unauthorized, and stakeholders should rely only on official channels for document-related procedures.
