One of Delhi’s oldest and iconic markets, Chandni Chowk, has been on a renovation spree for the past couple of years. The market, which is known for being congested, has now been completely transformed to ensure the tourism boom and hassle-free movement of people and tourists.
Since the past few weeks, numerous pictures and videos do the renovated Chandi Chowk are also circulating on the web and they show the breathtaking change.

The recent pictures and videos of the market show pedestrians walking on a renovated concrete path without the usual jostle of rickshaws, e-rickshaws, private vehicles, and commercial vehicles. Have a look:
Apart from the roads, the greenery of the place will also be uplifted. The market will have 250 moulsari trees and LED lights at specified places. The entire decoration work is inspired by Mughal architecture.
“The roads were always packed, people running into each other, nouse and car horns and petty thefts a constant risk. When I returned to Chandni Chowk after four months today, I was pleasantly shocked to see how it has changed.” a businesswoman who was at Chandni Chowk on Monday told Times of India.
The renovation project was started back in December 2018 and is set to be completed by November 20. The worth of the project is Rs 90 crore.

Once completed, only rickshaws will be permitted to run on the new path. However, exceptions have been made for differently-abled people.
