The SMS benefit for prepaid users in India will no longer be available under Rs. 100 recharge packs. Telecom operators including Jio, Vodafone Idea (Vi), Airtel, and others bring this alteration to prepaid recharge packs priced under Rs 100. It is being seen as a massive strategy move by telecom companies.
However, before this change, telecom operators were offering a bundled package of call time, SMS, and internet data, even on the entry-level recharge plans. Now, the newest move will remove the bundled SMS offering from this lot.

Now, the telecom giant in India says that no bundled SMS will be offered to prepaid users having under Rs 100 recharge plans. While Jio and Airtel have only a few plans under Rs 100, whereas Vodafone Idea still offers several prepaid recharge plans for their subscribers. But, none offers bundled SMSes. Here’s the proof below.
Airtel recently introduced its lowest smart prepaid recharge plan for validity which startes at Rs 79. It offers Rs 64 talktime and 200MB data for 28 days. However, the plan clearly states that no outgoing SMS bundled, it means the users are required to pay extra for each text message they do.
Jio offers a Rs 98 prepaid recharge plan that offers 1.5GB of data for a validity of 14 days. Moreover, the plan provides subscriptions to several Jio powered services and unlimited voice callings .
