On April 29, 2025, the Char Dham Yatra will start from Yamunotri and end in Badrinath. On February 3, 2025, pilgrims will be able to sign up for the pilgrimage both online and offline.
For easy registration, the state Tourism department has released a smartphone application. A token system may be used to access basic darshan, however online registration is needed for certain services like Rudrabhishek.
It is expected that pilgrims from all around the nation would congregate at this hallowed location to conduct rituals and ask for blessings.
For devotees all around the country, the Char Dham Yatra—a respected pilgrimage that includes the sacred temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri has great spiritual importance. The Uttarakhand government mandates registration for pilgrims to ensure an easy and planned journey.
The gates of Shri Gangotri Dham will open on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. The holy river Ganga flows at this holy location, and its 20-foot-tall temple has intricate designs on white granite. Situated in the state’s highest reaches within the majestic Himalayas covered in snow, Gangotri experiences an abundance of snowfall from December to March.
Hinduism attaches great spiritual value to the Char Dham Yatra, which is the journey to the four sacred Hindu sites of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The traditional travel season for this route is April/May through October/November, depending on the weather. Millions of people visit these Himalayan temples every year, however, during the winter months the gates remain closed because of the severe snowfall.
Thousands of followers go out on this difficult path each year in search of divine blessings and spiritual purification. The Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee chairman, Ajendra Ajay, has stated that sufficient funds would be set aside in the next budget for passenger amenities to serve even more pilgrims this year.
Registration is already open for Badrinath, Gangotri and Kedarnath Dhams; registration for Yamunotri Dhams will open upon the official announcement of their door openings. Those who are devoted can register via the official website, www.registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in .
