The Indian Railways has launched another semi-high speed special train between Chennai Central and Coimbatore to accommodate the increased traffic, meeting the wishes of the Western region’s passengers for a matching train.
In less than a month, the national transporter has installed semi-high-speed special trains on four separate routes. New Delhi-Patna Junction, Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli, and Howrah-New Jalpaiguri are the routes.
The Vande Bharat Special train will run as train number 06035 between Chennai Central and Coimbatore and as train number 06036 between Coimbatore and Chennai Central.
According to a Financial Express article, the Chennai Central-Coimbatore-Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express Special train would travel 497 kilometres in seven hours and five minutes. After CBE Vande Bharat, MAS-TVC Superfast Mail, and TVC AC Superfast Express, this will be the fourth fastest train on the line. These trains travel the same distance at 06:00, 06:52, and 06:58 hours, respectively.
Chennai Central-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express Stoppage, Frequency
The Vande Bharat Special train will run as train number 06035 between Chennai Central and Coimbatore and as train number 06036 between Coimbatore and Chennai Central.

Train No. 06036 Coimbatore Dr MGR Chennai Central Vande Bharat Special will leave Coimbatore Jn. at 15:05 hours on November 28, December 5, 12, 19, 26 & January 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2024, arriving at Dr MGR Chennai Central at 21:50 hrs the same day (10 Services).
Stoppages
Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur are among the stations where the train will stop.
