While there is no clear cut answer from the side of government about Chinese activities on borders, intrusions are being done. Indian Army’s Retired Colonel Ajai Shukla in his report on The Wire has talked about Chinese aggression. The tussle which started on 5th May 2020, has now escalated into a high-level tension.
As per on ground reports it is said that the Chinese have established their control over the entire Galwan valley. Chinese troops are deployed in the region at height. Galwan Valley is a strategic point on the Indo-China border which provides tactical edge to the army. Chinese has maintained this aggressive approach even after the meeting of Indian and Chinese military commanders on Saturday at Chushul, in Ladakh.
On May 24th an Indian Express report said that intrusions were made by Chinese on 3 places in Ladakh. China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has also occupied areas of Pangong Tso lake. Pangong Tso has areas under both the nations but now China has intruded into the Indian region. For the unknown Pangong Tso lake is the same area that you saw in the last scene of 3 idiots movie.
The occupation by China in hill tops at Galwan Valley is an issue as India has a strategic Darbuk-Shyok-Daulet Beg Oldi (DSDBO) road to Depsang passing through it. The Chinese presence has isolated the Depsang area of India. China is building road in the Pangong Tso lake region which would go on to intrude on Indian territory. Another retired Lieutenant General of the Indian Army Harcharanjit Singh Panag also talked about Chinese intrusion recently. He said the difference in perception of borderline is China’s new tactics.

China has not even discussed the Galwan Valley issue during Saturday’s talk. This shows how aggressive and arrogantly the dragons are going.
