As per the reports doing the rounds, the Chinese Army has erected as many as nine buildings in Nepal’s territory as Nepal continues to be silent about the issue. Moreover, the Chinese Army has even denied entry of Nepal locals in the area.
The report by TOI says that China, owing absence of Nepalese security forces in the region is eyeing to capture the area. As of now, the Chinese have constructed buildings at Namkhya village in the Humla district of Nepal.
The matter first came into light when the head of the village council, Vishnu Bahadur Lama, went on a routine border tour. There, he was stopped by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) who he says has completed the construction of nine buildings in the Lapcha area of Limi village.
Vishnu, however, managed to click some pictures of the developments from a distance. He said that the buildings have been constructed 2 km inside Nepal’s territory.

This, however, is not the first time when the matter has come to light. In 2019, local elected representatives said that the construction of three buildings between Limi and Lapcha was halted after Nepal objected to the same. However, the Chinese have now erected nine buildings which are now in the final phases of completion.
As of now, neither Nepal’s Home Ministry or Foreign Ministry has issued statements in this regard. This only asserts Nepal’s ignorance of its dignity for friendship with China.
