China has unveiled its new generation commercial carrier rocket with a 1.5-tonne payload capacity to compete with India in the Global Space launch market. A test launch of the rocket series codenamed “Smart Dragon” was done on Sunday.
China is aiming to tap the growth potential of domestic and global commercial space launches where it faces strong competition from India. India which has a record of launching 104 satellites in a go offers economically viable and efficient options for space launches.

As per a 2017 report, it was found that China’s space industry is lagging behind that of India in the commercial space industry.
