West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Thursday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has been presently attending election campaigns and doing poll meetings in election bound Uttar Pradesh. She has accused that, “Students stuck in Ukraine but PM holding rallies In UP”.
On Thursday Mamata Banerjee was addressing a rally in Varanasi and campaigning for Samajwadi Party for Assembly Elections in the state. She said that Central Government has left the stranded Indian students in Ukraine on their own in a war tied nation. Varanasi, a celebrated constituency in the state is going under polls on March 7, 2022.
Mamata Banerjee said, “Look what is happening right now. There is a war underway in Ukraine and PM Modi is doing meetings here (in the state). What is important? Isn’t bringing back our Indian students important?”
She added, “If you (Modi) have such good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and knew three months in advance that a war would break out, why did you not bring back Indians (from Ukraine).”

She further slammed Centre by saying, “Somebody is sleeping in bunkers, others are living without food and water and Modi ji, your government is instructing them to come back on their own. This cannot happen.”
Indian government has sent four evacuation flights and they have collectively brought 798 Indians from Bucharest (Romania), Budapest (Hungary) and Rzeszow (Poland). The C-15 Aircrafts of Indian Army has landed at Hindon Airbase which is very close to Delhi in Ghaziabad district of UP under ‘Operation Ganga’ mission.
While Mamata Banerjee was campaigning for opposition party in Varanasi; Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing election meetings in Chandauli and Jaunpur. Many eastern UP districts are going under polls on March 7 for Assembly Elections. The results of Assembly Elections for all five states of UP, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand will be announced on March 10, 2022.
