IGL Increases CNG Price
The Natural Gas Distribution Company Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased CNG prices by ₹2.5 per Kg on Monday, reported by ANI. The new prices are in effect from April 4, and the company reveals that this hike in CNG price is because of a surge in the prices of natural gas globally. The official statement of the company said that the new prices will cover the hike of gas prices in the International Market.
With the surge in CNG prices now the cab drivers are hesitant to use their car’s air conditioning system. A cab driver admitted to ANI, “In the wake of the hike in the CNG price, we shall not switch on the cab’s air conditioner for passengers. The increased price has hit our pockets.”
CNG Prices
Earlier also the CNG prices were hiked by 80 paise per KG on April 1. For IGL the domestic fields and imported LNG are sources of natural gas. And LNG prices have recently touched the highest mark. This results in the increase of gas prices produced from local fields on Thursday. Thus with these recent developments IGL was forced to hike the prices. The inflated market rates are responsible for the hike of total ₹11 per kg for this year.
