A price surge has been recorded in many consumer goods across several categories and even your favourite Maggi will cost you more now. Nestle India has decided that it will increase the prices of Maggi by 9-16% and it will also increase the price of instant coffee powder and milk powder.
Maggi Masala Noodles 70 gm pack will now cost Rs 14 which earlier was Rs 12. Maggi Masala Noodles 140 gm pack will be expensive by Rs 3 which is an increase by 12.5%, 560 gm pack will be retailed at Rs 105 which is a hike of 9.4%. A+ Milk is one of the best selling products of Nestle will cost Rs 78 which earlier was Rs 75. The cost of Nescafe instant coffee will increase by 3-7%. A 25 gm pack will increase by 2.5% from Rs 78 to Rs 80. A 50 gm pack of Nescafe will cost Rs 150 which earlier was Rs 145.

Hindustan Unilever Limited will also hike prices of tea and coffee powder. Unilever sells coffee under brand name Bru and it will see a hike of 3-7%. Taj Mahal tea will see a hike of 3.7-5.8% across all packs. Brook Bond tea prices will increase by 1.5-14%. The companies have said that rising inflation has put the pressure on the company. Recently, Amul and Mother Dairy also increased prices of milk and milk products in the sight of rise in inflation.
Retail inflation data was released last month post which companies started increasing prices of several FMCG products (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). Because of increasing inflation the cost of house budget has also increased and consumers are worried about their wealth management. Government has ensured that it is working to control retail inflation and would not leave common man to the sufferings.
