Responding to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement demanding Amit Shah’s resignation over the “Cooch Behar killings”, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah said if the people of West Bengal ask me to resign from the post, I am ready to do so.
While addressing a rally in Basirhat in the North 24 Parganas district, senior BJP leader Amit Shah asserted that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is going to quit on May 2. The WB CM Mamata Banerjee demanded Amit Shah’s resignation as the Union home minister over the killing of four people in firing by CISF personnel during the fourth phase of voting in Sitalkuchi.

Amit Shah said “Didi has been asking for my resignation. If the people of West Bengal demand that I put down my papers, I am ready to do so with my head bowed. But Mamata will have to quit the CM’s post on May 2.“
Votes for 294 assembly seats is going to held in eight-phase elections in West Bengal and the counting will be done on 2nd May.
Amit Shah Says ‘Mamata Banerjee opposing Citizenship Amendment Act to appease illegal immigrants’
Amit Shah asserted that Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is opposing the CAA in order to appease illegal immigrants, who will take benefits of welfare schemes but pamper in riots.
“What is Didi’s problem if Matuas get citizenship? Amit Shah said that her problem is that illegal immigrants will get irked. Such type of people does not have the right to rule as a CM of the state. He also said that illegal immigrants take benefits of welfare schemes like free ration but indulge in riots.
Amit Shah said that Bharatiya Janta Party will completely stop illegal immigration from Bangladesh if BJP comes into power. Moreover, he promised to introduce a “Chief Minister’s Refugee Welfare Fund” which provides Rs 10, 000 to the beneficiaries annually.
