People planning to visit Mussoorie from outside Uttarakhand will now require to carry a negative report of an RT-PCR Covid-19 test. The local administration informed this on Friday.
The decision came when scores of unruly tourists have been flocking to the North Indian hill stations ever since the government relaxed the Covid-19 guidelines. After Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh opened for tourists from other states, a large group of maskless people has seen daily thrown social distancing norms into the wind.

Therefore, in order to maintain the Covid-19 protocols and third-wave security, the Mussoorie administration has made it clear to have a negative Covid-19 report for online bookings of their accommodation.
Narendra Pant (A police official in Mussoorie) said “As the summer is peaking, tourists have started coming to Mussoorie in large numbers. But they are defying the Covid-19-induced guidelines. Roaming without masks and not maintaining social distancing have become normal.”
He additionally said that “The administration has decided to take a strong approach and made it mandatory to book hotels online with a negative report of Coronavirus. Anyone without a negative report will not be allowed to enter Mussoorie.”
