Delhi saw a massive spike in covid cases in last couple of weeks but few days have observed fall in number of covid cases. For straight five days there has been fall in number of cases.
To your surprise, the hospitalization rate in the capital is not reducing in proportion with the fall in cases.
On January 13, Delhi reported highest number of cases in a day and the count was at 28,867. The number was highest since the start of the pandemic and the positivity rate was 29.21%.
Experts have said that hospitalization rates are not getting reduced because there is still a very high positivity rate.
Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi has been dedicated for Omicron. Two cases of Omicron were admitted in the ICU on Tuesday.

Currently there were 41 occupied and 459 vacant beds in ICU of LNJP as per January 16. The number of occupied beds has risen to 43. There were 150 normal beds occupied by Covid patients but 9 patients left the facility and currently 141 beds are occupied.
CMO Dr Ritu Saxena said that the cases have come down in the city but the hospital admission rate remains more or less the same in the last one week.
More patients are getting treated currently in home isolation because of which there is fewer burdens on hospitals.
The daily testing number has been reduced by 50% from nearly 105,000 on January 12 to 52,000 in last 24 hours.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that ICMR Guidelines on Covid Testing are being followed in Delhi.
